From 1914 to 1924 he served as general factory manager for Gill Brothers Glass Co. at Steubenville, OH. He came to Lancaster, Ohio, in 1925 to become associated with the former Hocking Glass Co. as export manager, and also held that post with Anchor Hocking glass Corp. until his death. {1060} Mr. Beiswanger was associated with the glass business all his life and on October 14th 1952, after being ill for six months, Mr. Beiswanger past away. |

1969-1984 ~ Data Processing Manager, Imperial Glass Co., Bellaire, OH. Wade studied accounting at Elliott School of Business in Wheeling, W. Va. as he worked at his first job at the corporate headquarters of Hazel-Atlas Glass Company in Wheeling. He became Data Processing Manager there before moving on to assume the same position at Ohio Valley Medical Center, also in Wheeling. Finally, in 1969, Imperial hired Wade as Data Processing Manager, a position he held until Imperial closed its doors in 1984. Upon his arrival at Imperial, the office was using an IBM system that employed the 80-column punch card. Wade’s expertise allowed him to program that system to run many more applications, including payroll. In the mid 1970s, Lenox installed an online information system that eliminated the cards. Wade kept up to date with the changing technology by attending many workshops and classes at various locations and participating in the local chapter of the Data Processing Management Association. |
