JEANNETTE GETS DISASTER LOAN:
As a result of flood damage suffered, a disaster loan of $250,000 to the Jeannette Glass Company, Jeannette, Pa., was approved last month by the Reconstruction Finance Corporation. The loan will run for ten years at three per cent interest. Company plans call for $70,000 of the loan to be used for replacing inventory, $80,000 for labor costs in salvage and cleaning up the plant, $70,000 to replace cartons and $30,000 to repair equipment. Jeannette manufactures a complete line of machine-made glassware.

A new idea in planters attracted attention at the Jeannette Glass Company, 1581 the Mart. The new planter features a clear glass undersection from which water is drawn up through a fibre-glass wick planted with the dirt in the attractive fluted black glass upper section. The even supply of moisture thus provided is said to be especially good for African violets. It retails at $2.50. Jeannette also showed some new clear glass hurricanes with a delicate white leaf embossed decoration, at $4 a pair retail, with candles.
